The Adult Day Center (ADC) provides supervised social and recreational activities to the elderly, and/or physically handicapped adults Monday through Friday. Daily programs of nutrition, medical care, and transportation make it possible for individuals to remain in their homes and be part of the community.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA SHaW) is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for abused and neglected children in out-of-home placement under the jurisdiction of the Family Court in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties. We recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers who will advocate for the best interests of these children and help expedite their placement to a safe, loving, and permanent home.


The Childrens Museum

The Children's Museum is working to build a regional non-profit children's museum in Somerset County. The museum will feature interactive exhibits for children in the age range of 1 to 12 years in the thematic areas of science, nature, art and community. Its vision is to create an informal educational institution for children and their families that is of exceptional quality.

HomeSharing is a non-profit social service agency that responds to the affordable housing problem in Somerset County by matching seekers, individuals in search of a place to live, with providers, residents willing to share their homes. These matches allow both parties to maintain their dignity, financial independence and housing stability.


The Learning Gate

The Learning Gate is a private non-profit organization providing quality affordable childcare for children six weeks through kindergarten. The Center offers full time year round childcare for families who live and/or work in Somerset County. The programs are designed to meet physical, intellectual and social/emotional needs of each child in a home away from home environment. The Center provides the children with three meals daily. The Learning Gate is licensed by the NJ Bureau of Licensing.

Since 1979 Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey has helped establish and support local programs that train volunteers to tutor adults with limited literacy. With a corps of 2,500 trained volunteers to tutors, this network of community based literacy programs offers free instruction to thousands of adults who need to improve their reading and writing skills or ability to understand and speak English.

WIC is the Special Supplement Food Program for Women, Infants and Children. It began in 1972 and is funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The State Department of Health administers it in New Jersey through 22 local agencies. The local agency who sponsors the WIC program in Warren, Hunterdon, Sussex and Somerset counties is NORWESCAP, a non-profit community organization.

S.W.I.M., Inc. is a private, non-profit, non-medical group of volunteers who help relieve, through water exercise, many physical or muscular discomforts of adults afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis, post stroke, orthopedic or other physical problems. Our program is free of charge at various locations throughout New Jersey.
