"Thank you again for the generous scholarship that you have awarded me. It is an honor to be recognized by such a distinguished and reputable group of individuals. I felt a strong sense of community while attending the ceremony, and I am very grateful to have been honored and to have met of few members of this organization.

This fall, I will be attending Saint Louis University for their Guaranteed Seat Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. This is a six year program, so your award will greatly help to finance my education.

I plan on extending my volunteering career through college, as I have adopted a proclivity to volunteerism. I will continue to assist athletes with disabilities through the Special Olympics organization, and I also intend to join clubs at my university that promote service. The skills and passions that I have gained while volunteering will resonate with me for the rest of my life."

"I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the PeopleCare Scholarship. Your organization, dedicated to helping nonprofit agencies and community service, truly inspires me to pursue a lifelong career that makes a positive impact in others' lives through service.

This $1,000 scholarship not only helps to cover the cost of tuition, but it also allows me to attend my first choice school, Northwestern University! This fall, I will be majoring in biomedical engineering, and I am on track to graduate in spring of 2021 as part of the seven-year Honors Program in Medical Education with Feinberg School of Medicine.

I am so honored to be the recipient of this generous award, and I am deeply appreciate of your support!"

— Catherine Chen, recipient 2018

"I wanted to follow up in regards to my first year at Rutgers University. I am officially majoring in Packing Engineering and I could not be more happy with my decision. It was an obstacle figuring out what I wanted to major in, but I am very pleased with my choice. The classes were challenging but insightful and I got a lot out of them. Aside from my academics, in my free time, I would volunteer for events at the school. For example, I was a greeter at the School of Engineering Open House, as well as at the 5K Big Chill Run. On Rutgers Day, I was part of the Social Media Team. I am an active member of the Rotaract Club, where we follow the motto, “Service Above Self.” Overall, it was truly an unforgettable and eye-opening year! Thank you so much for choosing me as one of the recipients. I was able to pay off my tuition and satisfy my commuter needs. Your aid is very much appreciated and has motivated to give back to the community whenever possible. I have set many goals for the future such as obtaining a high GPA and becoming more involved in the school. Thank you for your generosity and support, I will make you proud!"
